The Illustration

This illustration by Mara Surleau was created for the “UNIVERSE” collection of IELLO Jigsaw Puzzles. The French illustrator developed her style around colours and textures which plunge viewers into unique atmospheres. 

Mara Surleau

Mara Surleau quickly found herself with a pencil in her hand, and she has never let go! Originally from Gap in the High Alps, she launched her career as a freelance illustrator after 3 years at the Art School in Aix-en-Provence.

She has worked on projects with the Hautes Alpes publishing house, La Maison du Whisky in Paris and has exhibited in a variety of venues.

Her illustrations are both soft and colourful, steamy and deep. Her use of colour and texture plunges us into unique atmospheres, with characters whose eyes tell us a thousand and one stories.
